Gyratory Compactor
Instrument Details
Introduction
Gyratory compactor produces bituminous sample which simulate actual field compaction particle orientation thus improving mix design ability. Gyratory compactor was developed under Superpave mix design method. The primary operating parameters for the gyratory compactor include the pressure applied to the specimen during compaction; the speed of gyration/rotation; the number of gyrations applied to the specimen; and the angle of gyration. The sample of 100or150 mm dia can be prepared which can be further used for performance testing.
