Invitation to Submit Expression of Interest (EOI) for Licensing of “PAVE-SEAL: Air-Cleaning Nano Photocatalytic Pave Sealing Emulsion” Developed by CSIR-CRRI

Overview

CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CSIR–CRRI) invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible and experienced Indian firms for the licensing and large-scale commercialization of the innovative “PAVE-SEAL: Air-Cleaning Nano Photocatalytic Pave Sealing Emulsion.”
The technology has been developed by CSIR–CRRI as an environmentally sustainable pavement surface treatment solution aimed at improving air quality through photocatalytic action. The technology is suitable for application on flexible pavement surfaces and can be integrated with routine road maintenance and preservation practices.

About the “PAVE-SEAL: Air-Cleaning Nano Photocatalytic Pave Sealing Emulsion”

The technology comprises a specially formulated bitumen emulsion-based surface treatment designed for easy field application using conventional pavement maintenance equipment. Upon exposure to sunlight, the treated pavement surface facilitates photocatalytic reactions that help reduce atmospheric pollutants and improve the environmental performance of road infrastructure.
The technology has been successfully developed and validated at the laboratory scale and is now being considered for large-scale manufacturing, field implementation, and commercialization through industry participation.
