EOI for Licensing of “Waste HDPE Plastic Modified Bitumen Emulsion Technology” Developed by CSIR-CRRI

Overview

CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi, invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible and experienced Indian firms for licensing and large-scale commercialization of the innovative, patent-filed "Waste HDPE Plastic Modified Bitumen Emulsion Technology" developed by CSIR-CRRI.

The technology provides a sustainable approach for incorporating waste High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic into bitumen emulsion formulations for cold mix paving applications. It aims to promote the utilization of waste plastic in road construction and support environmentally sustainable pavement construction and maintenance practices.

About the "Waste HDPE Plastic Modified Bitumen Emulsion Technology"

CSIR-CRRI has developed an innovative process for producing waste HDPE plastic modified bitumen emulsion for cold mix paving applications. The technology involves the incorporation of waste HDPE plastic into bitumen emulsion through a specifically developed formulation and production process.

The developed technology offers an alternative approach for the beneficial utilization of waste plastic in bituminous road construction without relying on conventional hot mix production methods.

The technology aims to improve the sustainability of road construction by promoting plastic waste recycling, reducing the consumption of virgin materials, and enabling cold-applied bituminous paving applications.

The technology has potential applications in cold mix asphalt, pavement maintenance, rehabilitation, and other bitumen emulsion-based road construction activities.
