Mobile Bridge Inspection Unit (MBIU)

The Mobile Bridge Inspection Unit (referred as MBIU) is an Electro-mechanically driven Articulated Structure mounted on a vehicle (a truck) as an aid towards proper inspection of bridges or similar infrastructures by enabling an inspection team of 3-4 persons carrying instruments access to the underside of bridge decks over flowing rivers or gorges.
Utilization of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) in Road embankment

About 65-75% of segregated Municipal Solid Wastes can be used for embankment construction.Leachate studies indicate that MSW is a non hazardous material as concentration of heavy metals is within the permissible limit.Typical design cross sections have been arrived for 3m and 5m height MSW embankment.
Patch Fill-Pothole Repair Solution for Bituminous Roads

Patch-fill solution is useful for faster filling of potholes in bituminous roads without causing any environmental pollution and hindrance to roads users. Potholes filled by Path-fill shall be long lasting.
India hails success of first ‘steel-slag road’

A stretch of six-lane road experimentally paved with slag from steel-making in India has been shown to weather the beating from thousands of heavy trucks even though the surface is 30% shallower than that of roads paved with natural aggregates. Slag is made up of impurities melted out of the ore during the steel-making process. The trial, guided by the Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) and sponsored by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS).

Overview

CSIR–Central Road Research Institute (CSIR–CRRI) invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible and experienced Indian firms for the licensing and large-scale commercialization of the innovative "CLARIVISOR".

About the "CLARIVISOR"

The technology developed by CSIR–CRRI is intended for a glare mitigation device for four wheelers designed to improve visual clarity and driving safety by reducing glare for automotive use.

Opportunities for Commercialization

CSIR-CRRI seeks EOIs from registered Indian firms with:
• Proven experience in the electronics/optics fabrication & assembly.
• Adequate manufacturing, marketing, and distribution capabilities.
• PAN-India operational capabilities.
• Interest in obtaining a license for the manufacture, commercialization, and large-scale supply of the CLARIVISOR technology.

Selection and Next Steps
All received EOIs will be evaluated, and shortlisted firms will be invited for discussions regarding licensing modalities, supply capacity, and technical collaboration. Final selection shall be at the discretion of the Director, CSIR-CRRI, based on techno-commercial viability and relevance. Financial arrangements and technology transfer agreements will be finalized with the selected firms.
