Invitation to Submit Expression of Interest (EOI) for Licensing of “Two Pack On-site Pothole Filling Mix” Developed by CSIR-CRRI | Post-Technology Demonstration Announcement – July 2025

Overview

CSIR-Central Road Research Institute invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible and experienced Indian firms for the licensing and large-scale commercialization of the innovative "Two Pack On-site Pothole Filling Mix". This cold mix-based solution has been developed by CSIR-CRRI to offer a durable, cost-effective, and rapid response for pothole repair across diverse climatic and traffic conditions.

About the "Two Pack On-site Pothole Filling Mix"

The mix is provided in two separate packs for easy on-site blending and immediate application. It is designed to be user-friendly and does not require hot mix plants or complex machinery, making it ideal for emergency and routine maintenance activities.

The technology has been validated in laboratory and field conditions and has shown promising results in terms of performance and ease of use.

Opportunities for Commercialization

CSIR-CRRI seeks EOIs from registered Indian firms with:

• Proven experience in road construction or maintenance
• PAN India operational capabilities
• Interest in licensing and supplying this mix at a commercial scale

Selection and Next Steps

All received EOIs will be evaluated, and shortlisted firms will be invited for discussions regarding licensing modalities, supply capacity, and technical collaboration. Final selection shall be at the discretion of the Director, CSIR-CRRI, based on techno-commercial viability and relevance.

Financial arrangements and technology transfer agreements will be finalized with the selected firms.
