Information on Payment of Fees as per RTI Act 2005 and Favouring of remittances

A request for obtaining information under sub-section (1) of RTI Act Section 6, shall be accompanied by an application fee of Rupees Ten (Rs.10/-) by way of cash (which shall be deposited at cash section and challan copy of deposit should be enclosed with RTI application) or by demand draft or bankers cheque or Indian Postal Order payable to 'Central Road Research Institute'. RTI applicants who are below poverty line (BPL) are not required to deposit any RTI fee but should enclose attested copy of BPL certificate.

For providing the information under sub-section (1) of section 7, the fee shall be charged by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft or bankers cheque payable to 'Central Road Research Institute' at the following rates:-

rupees two for each page (in A-4 or A-3 paper) created or copied;
actual charge or cost price of a copy in larger size paper
actual cost or price for samples or models; and
for inspection of records, no fee for the first hour; and a fee of rupees five for each fifteen minutes (or fraction thereof) thereafter.

RTI applicants having BPL certificates shall pay no fee for receiving created or copies information upto 50 pages (in A-4 or A-3 paper).
For providing the information under sub-section (5) of section 7, the fee shall be charged by way of cash against proper receipt or by demand draft or bankers cheque payable to 'Central Road Research Institute' at the following rates:-

for information provided in CDs rupees fifty per CD; and
for information provided in printed form at the price fixed for such publication or rupees two per page of photocopy for extracts from the publication.

As per RTI act, no fee is to be paid for first appeal.

For RTI related remittance in CSIR-CRRI following procedure may be followed:
The applicant may kindly send the amount in the form of DD/Indian Postal Order/ Banker’s Cheque drawn in favour of 'Central Road Research Institute' or remit the charges by Cash through Cash Challan in the Cash Section of Central Road Research Institute, Mathura Road, New Delhi - 110025.
