EOI for Licensing of “BituEmulSense – Site Evaluation of Water in Bitumen Emulsion” Developed by CSIR-CRRI
Overview
CSIR-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi, invites Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from eligible and experienced Indian firms for licensing and commercialization of “BituEmulSense - Site Evaluation of Water in Bitumen Emulsion”, an indigenous technology developed by CSIR-CRRI for the fabrication of a probe-based instrument for rapid determination of water content in bitumen emulsions.
The technology offers an opportunity for industrial-scale fabrication and manufacturing of a portable testing instrument intended for on-site quality control of bitumen emulsions used in road construction and maintenance.
About “BituEmulSense” Technology
BituEmulSense is an innovative, indigenous technology developed by CSIR-CRRI for the fabrication of a probe-based instrument designed to determine water content in bitumen emulsions.
The developed technology encompasses the design and fabrication of a measurement instrument incorporating a sensing probe for rapid evaluation of water content in the field, which is a critical quality control parameter for bitumen emulsions.
The instrument is intended to facilitate on-site testing, minimize dependence on conventional laboratory-based testing procedures, and support timely quality assessment during bitumen emulsion production, transportation, and field application.
The technology has potential for commercial-scale instrument fabrication and deployment in bitumen emulsion manufacturing plants, road construction projects, quality control laboratories, and field inspection activities.
Opportunities for Commercialization
CSIR-CRRI seeks EOIs from registered Indian firms with:
- Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or commercialization of scientific instruments, sensor-based devices, and testing equipment.
- Road/Building Infrastructure expertise for scaling up the developed instrument technology for commercial manufacturing.
- PAN India marketing, distribution, and after-sales service capabilities.
- Interest in licensing the developed technology for manufacturing, supply, and large-scale commercialization of BituEmulSense instruments.
