Servo Control Machine

Servo Control Machine

Overview:

The Flexural performance of fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) and shotcrete is an important attribute of these materials because flexure is the principal mode of load resistance in which these materials are commonly used including slab-on-grade and tunnel linings. This servo controlled machine has been found necessary in order to impose stable and reproducible test conditions on beams. Servo-controlled machines utilize closed-loop strain feedback mechanisms in an attempt to maintain stability throughout the post-crack deformation history of a brittle FRC specimen.

Application:

Servo control machine is primarily used to study the flexural behaviour in terms of toughness of fiber reinforced concrete beam specimens (100mm x 100mm x 500mm or 150mm x 150mm x 700mm) using the standards ASTM 1609 and ASTM 1018. This machine is also used to determine the compressive, flexural, and split tensile strength of mortar and concrete specimens.
