A five-day training program on "The Application of Geo-synthetics in Road Infrastructure Projects" Jointly Organised by NTTM, under Ministry of Textiles and CSIR- Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) in association with Galgotias University.

Inauguration Under the Skill Development Programme for the Undergraduate Students of NTTM, Ministry of Textiles, GoI, CSIR CRRI has jointly organized the first five-day Training Programme from 7th April 2025 to 11th April 2025, in association with Galgotias university. The training programme was started with the inauguration ceremony held on 7th April 2025 at GALGOTIAS University. Prof. Manoranjan Parida, Director of CSIR-CRRI, inaugurated the training program with an inspiring address to the students at the university. In his address, Prof. Manoranjan Parida emphasized the importance of geo-synthetics in enhancing the durability, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of road infrastructure. He highlighted the critical role of such training programs in equipping students with industry-relevant skills and preparing them for real-world infrastructure challenges. Dr. P. S. Prasad, Chief Scientist and Project Lead at CSIR-CRRI, along with Dr. AK Sinha, Senior Principal Scientist and Event Coordinator from CRRI, organized and oversee the five-day training program, in collaboration with the program coordinators from Galgotias University. Prof. Dr. Deepak Kumar Soni, HoD Civil Dept., and Sh. Jagan, Asstt. Prof. Civil Dept. The inaugural function was graced by Dr. K. Mallikharjuna Babu, Vice Chancellor of Galgotias University, who served as the Guest of Honor. In his speech, Dr. Babu emphasized the significance of the training programs offered by CSIR-CRRI, noting that the institution's renowned expertise and experience would serve as pivotal milestones for the students of Galgotias University as they embark on their careers. Dr. T.S. Rana Head of the CSIR-Human Resource Development Centre, Ghaziabad (Guest pf Honour) addressed the students, highlighting the various training programs and human resource development activities organized by CSIR. He spoke about how these initiatives contribute to building a robust knowledge base across multiple scientific and technical domains within the CSIR community and educational institutions. As part of the inaugural address of Dr. K. Ravinder, Chief Scientist and Head of the ILT Division, provided an overview of the diverse training activities and skill development initiatives aimed at advancing knowledge in the transport and road sectors within CSIR-CRRI. Dr. Kanwar Singh, Chief Scientist and Head of the GTE Division, also discussed the wide-ranging activities in the field of Geotechnical Engineering. At the outset, Dr. P.S. Prasad, Chief Scientist and Project Lead explained the mandate and course structure of the training program, aligning it with the Ministry’s objectives to achieve excellence in the curriculum. He outlined the concept of GeoSynthetics in align with Technical Textiles witnessing the practical applicability of the same in Road and Transport Areas. The five-day course commenced to aiming to cover topics such as reinforced soil structures, pavement stabilization, drainage solutions, and the practical applications of geo-synthetics in road infrastructure projects to the targeted students. This program features with technical sessions, hands-on training, and expert discussions led by leading scientists and industry, doubt clearing sessions with students and Assessment evaluation in the subject , for the following five days to achieve the mandate of General Guidelines of Skill Development and training of candidate in technical textile.
